Do we have a champ already?

Last year I blogged quite a bit about Mark Casse and his all-star barn.  The run for the roses is here again and this time Casse has a legit star in the race  in Classic Empire.

It's derby time again and the fans cant wait to see who comes out on top.

I think Classic Empire is quite the star  even though there was a minor set back with progression leading up to this point.  Casse is quite the trainer and if anyone can get Classic Empire ready it would be him.  I would have loved to personally see Patrick Husbands on one of Casse's american based horses but I don't think it's going to happen.

Glad I got that off my chest!

mine that bird long shot kentucky derby
MIne That Bird won at 50-1
This year everyone seems to think that we could have an up-setter win this race, meaning we could see a long shot win.  I feel like we could have a long shot win but that long shot is already a star.  The public sometimes gets blinded with all the experts dismissing horses who quite frankly haven't done anything wrong.

Please have a good look at these stars in this year's Kentucky Derby.

Gunnevera gets no respect with his quick turn of foot.  I like this guy but I don't trust the jockey on him and his impatience in a race like this.  Always Dreaming is going to be the public's favorite obviously with Todd Pletcher being the trainer most people figure this one will do well.

Classic Empire and Thunder Snow are the two horses with a bulls-eye on their back.  A change of scenery will probably be the newest thing for Thunder Snow, he is call Thunder Snow but he loves the desert, winning all of his starts outside the USA.

Really!!! If you are reading this it is because you need an angle which may sound different from the rest and the derby comes around only once a year with great odds.  I'll tell you which  horses should be very close to the finish line and perhaps win this race.  Gunnevera, Classic Empire, Irish War cry and Irap.

I will put my $2 on Irap and hopefully he is at 200-1 and wins.
